Christina Hughes

Christina is an interdisciplinary artist working with the mediums of dance and film. Her works examine themes of memory, identity and environment. Her dance films have been presented in festivals such as Rethink Dance Film Festival (La Crosse, WI), Spoke The Hub: Wheelhouse Series (Brooklyn, NY), Opine Dance Film Festival (Philadelphia, PA),  Screendance Festival (Stockholm, Sweden) and East Coast Dance Arts (Wicklow, Ireland). She is a company member with Andiamo Dance Company and the founder of the Ketchikan Dance Film Festival - the first dance film festival to premiere in Southeast Alaska. Christina is the recipient of the 2025 Chulitna Lodge Full Fellowship Award, where she will be traveling to Port Alsworth, Alaska to build a new screendance work at the Lake Clark National Park and Preserve.

Her love for travel and placing herself in numerous varying landscapes has inspired much of her current choreographic and screendance works. Currently, Christina collaborates with other dance artists and companies to continue building dances both for the screen and the stage.
